Step 1: Download Windows Virtual PC

  2. Scroll Down and select your preferred language and click on “Download”.

Step 2: Install and Download Windows XP Mode

How to get Windows XP Mode on Windows 8/10?

So, this is something that needs your special attention. Windows 8/10 isn’t compatible to run the Windows XP mode. But you can still use it with the help of VMware Player. Yes, there are other players as well such as Hyper-V to run the Windows XP mode, but it is preferred to use VMware Player for better integrations.

This method works both for Windows 8 as well as Windows 10. You can use the original disc file of Windows XP to install in the virtual machine or download the ISO file from the internet.

  1. Follow the process as above to download the Windows XP Mode file from the official site here.
  2. Download VMware player from here and install it on your system.
  3. Launch the Virtual Machine on your Windows 8/10 computer system.
